Grammy award winning group Los Lonely Boys performed the National Anthem prior to Game Two of the 2008 World Series on Thursday, October 23, 2008.
Los Lonely Boys are an American Grammy-winning musical rock band from San Angelo, Texas. They play a style of music which they dub as Texican Rock n’ Roll, combining elements of rock and roll, blues, soul, country, and Tejano.
In 2004, the group released “Los Lonely Boys” with their hit single, “Heaven”. The song reached #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart, #16 on the Billboard Hot 100; and crossed over to the Hot Country Songs chart, where it peaked at #46.
In 2005 “Heaven” won Los Lonely Boys a Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
In July 2008, Los Lonely Boys released their third studio album, “Forgiven” and are following up with the Los Lonely Boys Brotherhood Tour.
The 2008 World Series was televised nationally by FOX Sports and televised around the world by Major League Baseball International in 13 languages to 229 countries and territories around the world.
